Weekly Watch- 4/20

Updated: Jul 26, 2020

Monday Must: Pineapple Express- Celebrate 4/20 the best way possible, by watching one of the funniest comedies of the 2000s, and especially one of the funniest Seth Rogen films to date. Rogen and James Franco bring iconic performances that still hold up to this date. If you are a fan of his other comedies such as "The Interview", "Neighbors", and "This Is The End", you will definitely enjoy this film, and leaving wanting more. Celebrate 4/20 the best way possible, by watching your favorite stoners go on a wild ride. (Rent or Buy on Youtube/Prime)

Terrible Tuesday: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice- I know right off the bat this is gonna be a controversial choice, but lets just be honest with yourselves, this movie downright awful. So awful it is worth to watch. This film will go down in history as the film that single-handedly destroyed what is left of the DCEU, next to Ezra Miller choking a fan, and with that in mind I dare anyone to tell me what is good about this movie. The "Martha" scene alone almost made me walk out of the theater, but this film alone is so bad its amazing to watch. (Buy or Rent on Prime/Youtube)

Women Crush Wednesday: Frozen II- Disney's two favorite sisters come back to go another adventure to save their kingdom from a secret past of their parents. Frozen II overall is a beautiful film with many fun moments and amazing on screen visuals. The hardest part of making a animated musical sequel is constructing songs that hold up as much as the first film, and to me they certainly deliver. Plus Olaf alone is one of the funniest characters Disney has ever created so his presence alone will cheer you up during quarantine. (Watch on Disney+)

Throwback Thursday: GoodFellas- Long before Martin Scorsese was hating on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Eminem singing at the Academy Awards. He made a little known independent film known as "GoodFellas". For anyone who has not seen this movie it is truly amazing, for anyone who is a fan of Scorsese who has seen his films such as "The Irishman" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" it is amazing, and for anyone who hates Marvel it is amazing. Pesci, DeNiro, and Liotta give outstanding performances that still hold up to this date. This is not only one of the best gangster films of all time, but simply one of the greatest films of all time. (Watch on Netflix)

Friday Feels: Coco- Coco is one of those films that come along once in generation that hits every form of emotion possible when watching. You laugh, you cry, you feel anger and disgust, you simply become locked in when watching this Pixar film. When following Migeul's journey to find his musical roots, you become one with him and family to uncover the secrets of his pasts. The animation is stunning and the songs even help trigger your emotions along the way, this film is not a musical, but it is the closest thing Pixar has to a musical at the moment. Keep a box tissues close by when watching this film. (Watch on Disney+)

Cinema Weekend: Parasite- To close the week, make a big bowl of popcorn, grab your favorite drink and candy, and lock in on one of the best pictures of 2019 that had one of the craziest film twist of all time. You think this movie is going in one direction then starts heading in another direction and soon another direction. The Oscars finally picked the right award to win Best Picture and Bong Joon-Ho delivers a masterpiece and tour DE force of cinema. While they do not speak English in this film, the actors alone bring life to this film, on top of amazing cinematography and music, this film alone will help you miss going to the theaters. (Watch on HULU)
