Toy Story 4 Review- Pixar Does it Again...Makes Me Laugh and Cry at the Same Time

In 2010, Pixar Animation came out with Toy Story 3, a film that not only set the bar for animated films today but for films in general. As the years have come, Pixar has constantly brought in the proper formula that raises the bar and expectations and reactions set by the audience. Now nine years later, Pixar has decided to go it's roots one last time, to properly close out it's beloved series, and allow us to not only say goodbye to franchise, but also to the characters we have gone to grow up our whole lives. At the same time, they are again raising the bar and setting new expectations that will go down in history as not only of the best films of 2019, but one of the best films of all time. The film takes two years after Andy donated his toys to Bonnie, and the whole gang, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest have managed to not lose their pieces and have enjoyed the play time with Bonnie. However, all but really Woody have enjoyed the playtime, since Bonnie does not pick Woody to play with her when she is home. On that same day she is entering 1st Grade, Woody sneaks into her bag and discovers she has trouble making friends, so in order to help, he sneaks out of the bag, gathers art supplies, and helps Bonnie make a new friend. The new friend introduced to gang is none other than "Forky", a plastic spork made of glued eyes played by comedian Tony Hale. Woody does what he can to show the others he is valuable to Bonnie, although Forky believes himself to be trash. Bonnie's family soon goes on a road trip, one night Forky jumps out the window and Woody follows him to save him. On the way back to the RV, he sees in a antique store Bo Peep's lamp, one Andy's old toys. While finding Bo Peep, Woody, Buzz and Forky go a new adventure. On their adventure, we meet new faces that steal the movie in every scene including Ducky and Bunny played by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, and most importantly Duke Caboom played America's sweetheart Keanu Reeves. While there characters provided me with the laughter much needed throughout the film, the old characters, especially with the reunion of Woody and Bo Peep, were able to teach heartwarming lessons about growing up and figuring out new ideas, and listening to our inner voice. With that being said, my inner voice the whole film was crying with sadness and happiness. Pixar also finds a way to bring out the beauty of the old and new toys through it's animation, the antique store scenes full easter eggs were simply stunning and beautiful. The old cast of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen figure out ways to not only provide new memorable moments in cinema history that will stand the test of time, they bring a sense of great nostalgia back to our hearts that is both comforting and refreshing. Overall, Toy Story 4 is a must see for all, even if you have not seen a film in the franchise, you will still love the film, be on the lookout for next year at the Academy Awards.
